Course Description This 20 hour entry level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low ropes programs. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a low ropes course. Course Objectives By the end of this course, instructor candidates will: Be familiar with adventure learning theories and practices especially their application to program leadership Learn and practice safe operation and management aspects of low elements Experience facilitating a low activity including its design, delivery, and debrief Improve their ability to provide meaningful involvement opportunities for all participants Course Prerequisites 18 years of age Willingness and ability to perform all tasks related to ropes course operation including spotting, participating in activities, and performing set-up / take-down Previous participation in low ropes course or climbing activities preferred Additional Info: (4) Meals included - lunch on first day of course, to lunch on last day.
